About J.F. Wiegand

Exploring

In addition to writing books and building things, J.F. Wiegand also like to explore. This picture was taken along the southern coast of Australia. Although he has also hiked in Sweden and the Netherlands, he especially enjoy treks within his home state of Maryland, recently completing the C&O Canal towpath and a single day trail run of the Catoctin National Recreation Trail. Next up is the Great Allegheny Passage, which is a 150-mile rail trail between Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and Cumberland, Maryland.

Personal Life

J.F. Wiegand lives in western Maryland with his wife, three children, and a Goldendoodle named Lucy. The Wiegand family enjoys hiking, cornhole battles, and great dinner conversation. Of course, Lucy, who occasionally has to dodge the cornhole bags and doesn’t partake in the dinner conversation, only enjoys the hiking.

J.F. Wiegand is also an avid reader, pickleball player, and consumer of steamed crabs with Old Bay Seasoning.

“The truth.
I hear you must face it.
I hear it’s more powerful than love, fame, or money.
I hear it will set you free.
If only. Real truth is complex, like life, like this story. You won’t see real truth on social media. You won’t see it on CNN or Fox News. You won’t hear it from your neighbors. Or your wife. Or your kids.
But you’ll hear it from me.
It took a long time for me to accept what happened. But I have. It’s incredible how your perspective changes with time. What about you? How do you view past events? Are they different than you remembered? No? What if you looked closer?
I’m going to tell you what happened. Of course, I can’t say you’ll like what you hear, but it will be the truth.”
